Prison Rape Elimination Act
NNJS Holds a Zero Tolerance Policy on any and all incidents of sexual harassment or assault by any person. This means that every incident that is reported will be taken seriously, full investigated and if necessary reported to law enforcement for further investigation and prosecution.
Upon admission all residents are oriented to what PREA is and how to report if they feel that they have been sexually harassed or assaulted in any way. These include telling a parent or family member, NNJS Staff member or volunteer, or any member of their legal team. Residents are encouraged to report verbally, in writing, or through our NNJS phone system.
NNJS' goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for all residents during their stay.
